Business in the Community - Yorkshire and Humber Environment Index

The Index is a voluntary survey that is designed to illustrate an organisation's commitment to improving its impact upon the environment. Companies that participate demonstrate their commitment by introducing changes to the way they operate which result in significant improvements in their environmental impact.

The Index provides businesses and organisations with a benchmarking opportunity to establish how well they perform compared to other local participants. Following completion of the index, a detailed report is issued that provides a breakdown of scores and ranking, and enables businesses and organisations to identify areas where they need to make improvements and focus their efforts.

The Index is an annual self completion survey, which is sent to invited organisations in January and returned by February.

The index results are published each year around May in the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Business Insider magazine. Companies involved enhance their reputation through association with this credible and independent benchmark.
