The launch of the CRC (Carbon Reduction Commitment) energy efficiency scheme in April placed carbon reduction firmly on the agenda for large public sector organisations and businesses. However, all businesses can benefit from identifying opportunities to reduce their carbon footprint and whilst not captured by the current legislation, many will be asked to provide information and match the commitments of their partners, customers and competitors. This briefing will look at the drivers for business to reduce its carbon footprint and explore some opportunities for your business to meet the carbon challenge.
Helen Shiels, Partner Account Manager at CO2Sense Yorkshire will be providing an update from Carbon Trading Yorkshire and the implications of carbon trading legislation on both large and smaller businesses.
Colin Sidaway, Energy Consultant, will talk on how to engage staff on saving energy and the opportunities to reduce everyday waste in your organisation.
Tom Mason, Rural Practice Surveyor at gfw-Renewables will be looking at Feed in Tariffs, the new financial incentives for renewable electricity generation in the UK, and discussing the opportunities for business.
David Sproat, Best Practice Manager at Simpson (York) Ltd will share his experience of what carbon reduction means in practice for the business.
