Environmental Efficiency
Environmental Efficiency is more important now than ever! Is your business aware of the range of options that can help you operate more efficiently and reduce their environmental impact?
As concern mounts nationally over increasing energy prices, York and North Yorkshire Business Environmental Forum (BEF) organised two events to help businesses based in rural, upland and coastal areas of North Yorkshire understand the importance of energy efficiency and to advise on environmental best practice.
The meeting proved highly successful as many businesses attended had a chance to talk to environmental professionals and learn about vital energy initiatives, including renewable energy technology, such as solar energy, ground source heat pumps and energy efficiency.
The meetings were held on the 5th April and the 6th April 2006 at Yorkshire Dales National Parks Office and Sutton Bank National Park Visitor Centre. Speakers included:
- A representative from the Business Environmental Forum explaining the Environmental Technology and Renewable Energy Funding and the other Environmental Forum Projects.
- The Yorkshire Renewable Energy Network explained the different types of Renewable Energy sources.
- Positive Planet explained how they can provide businesses with solar energy systems.
- NIBE Heating on the 5th April and Vitotec Solutions on the 6th April explained about ground source heat pumps and some of the issues of installing these systems.
