Waste Mangement Licensing Regulations
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 Part II, these Regulations state that the deposit, keeping, treatment or disposal of controlled waste requires a waste management licence. Certain activities are excluded where other authorisation is held for the process. There are also a number of exemptions. However all exemptions must still be registered as much with the waste regulation authority (Environment Agency). These may include disposal of own waste at the place of production (eg; through burning) and various treatment, recovery and storage operations.
